Parla Food is a finalist in Saveur’s Best Culinary Travel blog category and I am so thrilled to be nominated again! It would be delightful if you would take a moment to vote for Parla Food and, while you’re on Saveur.com, check out the other cool blogs in 13 categories. Voting is open through April 30th, so won’t you take a little time out of your day to cast your ballot? Pretty please with pecorino on top?

In Episode 10 of Kat and Marta’s incredible podcast, we talk about Rome’s changing food culture, among other exciting topics. Tune in here for the low down!

Piramide
The Pyramid of Gaius Cestius is just one of many recently refurbished monuments in Rome.

Undecided on where to go on holiday on this year? May I suggest Rome? The Italian capital is No. 48 on the NYT Travel’s list of desirable destinations for 2015. In addition to the city’s natural appeal, the Domus Aurea has reopened (at least until March, that is), the Pyramid of Gaius Cestius has been refurbished, and Augustan sites continue to celebrate the 2,000th anniversary of the first Emperor’s death. Read more online here or in this weekend’s NYT Travel section and I hope to see you in Rome in 2015!

A very pricey cocktail in progress on the roof of the new-ish DOM Hotel.

The DOM Hotel, a five-star luxury retreat, opened on Via Giulia in central Rome a little less than a year ago. The place is a good value, in relation to its category, and the location is hard to beat. I weigh DOM’s pros and cons in this Sunday’s NYT Travel section (or read online here).
