Daily Food Photo: Torta Salata alle Zucchine

Today I had lunch at Mercato di Campagna Amica, the weekly farmer’s market near the Circus Maximus. Every weekend through June 27, local producers sell their products including, some prepared foods which can be consumed at wooden tables in the courtyard at the back of the market. I ate a delicious slice of torta salata, a savory quiche-like cake of zucchini, ricotta, pine nuts and toasted hazelnuts from the Agriturismo Le Belle Rane table. The Mercato Campagna Amica is located at Via San Teodoro, 74.
