Happy Thanksgiving!

I thought this basket of root veggies I photographed at the Marché des Enfants Rouge in Paris last week was so festive. All the autumn hues are there, yet none of the vegetables seem to be their standard color. One of the things I like best about Paris is walking through its markets and discovering unusual produce, cheese, that make Rome’s broccolo romanesco seem mainstream. I also spotted some black tomatoes last Sunday at the Marché d’Aligre near Place de la Bastille.
