I am visiting Rome, Naples and Positano for the first time in October and just discovered your wonderful blog! Will definitely be picking up the Rough Guide to Rome ASAP! Looking forward to trying some of the restaurants and Roman fried food you recommended. I would love to try everything but am a little intimidated by the italian menus. What would be a good strategy on navigating them? Perhaps a list of culinary words? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

you might want to pick up david downie’s “food, wine, rome” as he uses lots of italian culinary words in his listings and this would be a good way to familiarize yourself with important food destinations and their dishes. reading ParlaFood will help, too:)
