Metamorfosi.

Rome restaurant week is upon us once again and prix fixe lunches and dinners will be served at select restaurants starting at €25. While around 80 venues are participating, not all are worth your hard earned dough. Some of the best, like Pipero al Rex, have been booked for weeks. Ditto for Michelin star holders like Oliver Glowig. But you can still score a stellar meal at a handful of other establishments. My top recommendations are Metamorfosi, L’Arcangelo Colline Emiliane, and La Sibilla (worth a dedicated trip to Tivoli). There are actually quite a few stinkers on the list. Too numerous to mention, actually. So your best bet is to stick to the aforementioned four. Book online on the DiningCity site.

  • i have never ever had any luck with restaurant week. It makes me feel like a chump who can’t even get a date if i paid for one.

ha! gina is doing some recon this week. hopefully she will report back:)

  • I am also unlucky with restaurant week. I guess it is a good way to get people to try new places or get a chance to got ot places that one normally can’t afford but I have found it is never the best food from those places. I still think it is a good idea. WE have it in San Diego and it is really fun.

  • You were completely right about the hit and miss. Thought we were being smart by looking up each one in the Gambero Rosso 2012, but still got a stinker – the OS Club. It was just so blah. Luckily, had a lovely meal at Chinappi the day after, so it saved Restaurant Week for me. Otherwise, I was ready to cross it off for 2013.
