Check out BudgetTravel.com for my piece on gelaterie in Rome. I did a lot of research (if you call a weekend long gelato binge research), tried out some old favorites, and found a new one. You can read the whole article here and view the slideshow here.

I recently tried for the first time Il Gelato (di Torcè)in Viale Aventino, just down from the FAO building, heading back towards Piramide. I had a cream of celery, which was superb, plus a couple of classics – strawberry and zabaglione. Both magnificent. I say I tried it for the first time, but a friend has often bought their ice cream as a take out when we eat over at his place, and he uses the company’s original shop in Viale d’aeronautica, in EUR.

If I go to Italy again this year, I go eat Italian ice cream! Many different flavors.
